The Basics

Still fairly new in the U.S. (the hotel debuted its first property in the States in New Orleans just three years ago), Moxy Hotels are coming in hot and a favorite amongst millennial travelers.

With a stylish and playful design aesthetic, as well as tech-enabled rooms that include motion sensor lighting, internet TV featuring Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Pandora and Crackle, a Digital Guestbook, plenty of power and USB outlets, selfie photo booth elevators (how cool is that?!) and a 24-hour self-service food and beverage program, who wouldn’t want to experience everything the Moxy brand has to offer?

The twenty-something-year-old-traveler (and even the thirty-something-year-old) loves a hotel that doesn’t compromise quality even if the rates are better than the traditional four or five-star properties we see all over Instagram. And Moxy Hotels got it right, that’s for sure. The brand is social media-friendly, inviting and affordable without being seen as a “budget” accomodation.

Moxy Hotels Locations

As the hotel branches out to Southeastern cities like Chattanooga, Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville and Louisville, younger travelers who prefer a boutique hotel vibe to a more corporate feel will be flocking to reserve a room at one (or more) of Moxy’s trendy locations. The millennial-focused brand, which debuted worldwide in Milan, Italy less than five years ago, is part of Marriott International. This is great news for travelers who already participate in the brand’s loyalty programs including Marriott Rewards®, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards®, and Starwood Preferred Guest® (SPG). Moxy will fall under this award-winning loyalty program umbrella, in which it’s easy to book a stay, achieve Elite status and earn and redeem points toward free hotel stays at more than 6,700 participating hotels in over 120 countries and territories across the world.

Moxy Hotels and Marriott Rewards

As for Marriott Rewards cardholders, the story remains the same. Both the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus Credit Card ($95 annual fee) and the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus BUSINESS Credit Card ($99 annual fee) through Chase award 75,000 bonus points to cardholders after they’ve spent $3,000 on purchases within the first three months of opening an account. Each includes one free night stay every year, automatic Silver Elite benefits, a clear path to Gold status and unlimited point accumulation. For each dollar spent at participating Marriott Rewards and SPG Hotels, you’ll earn six times the points, while all other purchases will earn you double points. This holds true for the Moxy Hotels brand and benefits customers/cardholders no matter which Marriott International property they decide to frequent. So get to packing your bags and deciding on your next travel destination. Whether it’s New York City, Chicago, Seattle or Copenhagen, your super cool hotel stay and your rewards await.
